Confirm that the cable has not been exposed to excessive bending or crushing during transport .Step 2: Prepare Testing EquipmentYou will need:Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) for detecting faults, breaks, and measuring attenuation.Optical Loss Test Set (OLTS) or power meter with light source for measuring total loss.Visual Fault Locator (VFL) for identifying breaks or tight bends.Optional: fiber pigtails and temporary splices for connecting bare fibers .
