Attach the cable to the suspension clamps, ensuring proper tension to prevent sagging but avoid over-tightening, which can damage the fiber . For long spans, consider tension clamps at the ends or at points where the cable changes direction .Step 6 – Vibration and Stress ManagementInstall spiral vibration dampers (SVDs) or Stockbridge dampers if the cable is exposed to high winds to prevent aeolian vibration, which can damage fibers over time . Ensure clamps are properly aligned and interlocked to prevent slipping or shaking.Step 7 – Splicing, Termination, and TestingAt designated points, splice or terminate the cable using fusion splicing for minimal signal loss.
